100% bio-based recyclable material for packaging and industry: REKRILL® biopolymers
KRILLMAT produces 100% bio-based recyclable material in Italy that can be sent for recycling in the conventional plastic stream, without requiring a separate composting chain. It is designed to meet the requirements of the European PPWR regulation, can be processed using extrusion, injection, rotational molding, and blowing, and is suitable for food contact in the EU, USA, Canada, and Asia.

Until now, those choosing a material had to decide between two paths: bio-based but incompatible with traditional recycling, or recyclable but of fossil origin. With REKRILL RECYCLABLE, KRILLMAT combines both features into a single polymer.
The material is born from renewable raw materials, offers performance comparable to petrochemical plastics, and at the end of its life re-enters existing recycling systems. For brands and processors, this means being able to declare bio-based content and real recyclability without overhauling end-of-life management.
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) introduces binding recyclability targets for packaging placed on the European market. Reducing volumes is no longer enough: it is necessary to demonstrate that the materials used can truly re-enter existing collection and recycling streams.
Added to this regulatory pressure are the demands of large-scale retail and consumers, who are increasingly oriented toward non-fossil materials. A recyclable biopolymer allows both needs to be met with a single material choice.
