SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING MATERIALS

Sustainable and recyclable packaging: the material that tells your brand's story

Packaging is more than just a container: it is the first point of contact between a brand and people. For companies looking to develop sustainable packaging, REKRILL® offers 100% bio-based solutions, available in compostable or recyclable in the plastic stream versions, capable of integrating product identity, functionality, and environmental awareness. A choice that also helps meet the recyclability requirements of the new European packaging regulation (PPWR).

RECYCLABLE PACKAGING AND PPWR

Bio-based and recyclable packaging, ready for PPWR

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation introduces binding recyclability targets for all packaging placed on the European market. Brands must demonstrate that the chosen materials can truly enter existing collection and recycling streams.

With REKRILL RECYCLABLE you can combine 100% bio-based content and recyclability in the conventional plastic stream, without a dedicated disposal chain:

  • designed for PPWR requirements
  • suitable for food contact in the EU, USA, Canada, and Asia
  • compatible with extrusion, injection, rotational molding, and blowing

Cosmetic packaging: aesthetics, sustainability, and performance in a single material

REKRILL® is a 100% bio-based polymer, available in two versions: compostable and microplastic-free, with CO₂ emissions reduced by up to 67%, or recyclable in the plastic stream. Thanks to its compatibility with major production processes, it is widely used in sustainable cosmetic packaging, where aesthetics, perceived quality, and environmental care must coexist.

Sustainable materials for the cosmetics of the future

Cosmetics is one of the sectors most interested in the evolution of sustainable packaging materials. With our biopolymers, brands can create packaging and containers capable of communicating product value through textures, colors, and finishes inspired by the natural origin of the biomasses used.

Textures, finishes, and shades recall the plant-based origin of the biomasses and allow for the creation of recognizable products. The natural color range can be customized with dedicated palettes: brands thus have new possibilities to develop eco-sustainable solutions consistent with their identity.

Choosing eco-sustainable packaging means transforming the container into a narrative element, capable of expressing a vision of the future. In the compostable version, REKRILL® products can return to the natural cycle without releasing microplastics into the environment and seas. In the recyclable version, they remain in the plastic cycle and become new material. KRILLMAT offers brands an innovative material to develop solutions that combine aesthetics, transparency, and responsibility.

Beyond packaging, a material developed for many sectors

We have gained experience in developing biopolymers for sustainable packaging in the cosmetic and luxury sectors, but the application possibilities are much broader. REKRILL® formulations can be customized based on the design, functional, and production needs of different fields of use.
