Krill Design debuts at PCD Paris 2026 (Discovery Zone, stand DZ-9) presenting the world premiere of an innovative new biological material, developed specifically for small-batch production and advanced prototyping activities.
The centerpiece of the presentation is a technical bar stock designed for turning and milling operations, a solution that marks a significant evolution compared to sustainable materials currently available on the market, thanks to an optimal balance between mechanical performance, precision, and environmental sustainability.
A High-Performance Biological Material for Mechanical Processing
The new Krill Design material is composed of 80% bio-based content, obtained from a combination of bio-resin and recycled plant fibers. The formulation has been designed to ensure:
- high mechanical strength
- dimensional stability during processing
- excellent mechanical and chemical properties
- precision and reliability in milling and turning processes
These characteristics make the material particularly suitable for product design applications, functional prototyping, and low-volume industrial production, opening new opportunities for companies and designers focused on sustainable innovation.
Innovation and Sustainability at the Core of Krill Design Research
A long-standing pioneer in the development of sustainable materials for circular industrial supply chains, Krill Design continues its research journey toward solutions with low environmental impact and high technical content.
In line with this vision, the company already has in development new formulations that further expand the offering:
- two 100% bio REKRILL® materials, differentiated by stiffness level
- a 60% bio formulation, with 15% plant fiber and recycled acetate, designed to valorize a material that in other industrial contexts would be difficult to recycle
This approach enables the introduction of more circular solutions, transforming waste and complex materials into high-value-added resources.
Krill Design at PCD Paris 2026
The official presentation of the new biological material will take place during PCD Paris 2026, scheduled for February 5-6, 2026 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
PCD Paris represents the leading European event dedicated to innovation in packaging, materials, and solutions for cosmetics and personal care, an ideal context to demonstrate how design, technology, and sustainability can converge in new industrial applications.
