REKRILL® Coffee is a biopolymer from coffee grounds obtained by recovering Silver Skin, the thin film that separates from the bean during roasting.

Silver Skin, a by-product of coffee roasting with no real industrial applications, is recovered and transformed into a bio-based material from coffee that becomes part of the REKRILL® polymer matrix. From coffee comes an innovative material capable of combining natural aesthetics, sustainability, and technical performance.
The warm tones of coffee and the fine grain of Silver Skin give the material an immediately recognizable aesthetic identity. Colors and finishes can be customized to suit any project.
The particular waxy component of Silver Skin enhances the material’s processability in additive manufacturing processes and ensures excellent performance in 3D printing.
Our polymer derived from coffee grounds is naturally also suitable for other production technologies.

The thin film that separates from the bean during roasting is recovered from Italian roasters and directed to a new production chain.
Silver Skin is dried and ground in our drying and micronization plant until it becomes a fine, stable powder: a moisture-free organic filler.
The filler is incorporated into the REKRILL® bio-based matrix through a patented compounding process, then extruded to obtain mini-pellets ready for industrial processing.
