For Krill Design, Zero Waste is not just a production goal: it is a radical choice that redefines the relationship between industry and nature, starting from the very origin of the material.
For Krill Design, Zero Waste is not just a production goal: it is a radical choice that redefines the relationship between industry and nature, starting from the very origin of the material.
What elsewhere is production waste, such as citrus peel, coffee silverskin, hazelnut shells, bran or pomace, becomes a resource in our laboratories. We create a new production cycle based on 100% bio-based, durable, compostable and completely biodegradable materials.
With REKRILL®, our patented biopolymer obtained from the valorisation of non edible food by-products, we eliminate all polluting residues and break the microplastics chain. We leave no traces to dispose of: we give back to the earth what belongs to it, generating a new useful and sustainable material.
The European Union produces approximately 2.5 billion tonnes of waste each year, equivalent to around 5 tonnes per capita. This poses significant challenges in terms of waste management, as indicated by the EU Waste Framework Directive(1).
Zero Waste means regeneration
Each product tells a story of transformation and respect for the environment, combining beauty, performance and responsibility in a transparent circular economy model, where every choice creates value for the local area and responds to the real challenges of our time.
