Each phase of REKRILL®‘s production is part of a virtuous supply chain that involves farms and agro industrial companies committed to a low impact circular economy model. Producing one tonne of REKRILL® means avoiding over 1.8 tonnes of CO₂, the equivalent of the annual absorption of one hectare of bamboo forest.

Unlike recycled plastics or common bioplastics, REKRILL® uses the non edible part of food and closes the cycle with complete biodegradation, without polluting elements, thus overcoming the long standing problem of microplastics released into the environment by traditional polymers.

Developed entirely in Italy, REKRILL® originates from by-products of the food industry, such as citrus peels, coffee grounds, bran, pomace and vegetables, and becomes a circular resource with high added value.

Biodegradable, compostable and circular, REKRILL® is the new frontier of sustainable materials.

It works with the same technologies as traditional plastics, without the costs of converting plants or molds and guarantees technical performance comparable to conventional polymers.

At the end of its life cycle, REKRILL® biodegrades without leaving microplastics, even in the marine environment.
