The production of REKRILL® biopolymers takes place entirely in Italy, in our facilities, where proprietary technologies and direct control guarantee consistent quality, traceability, and production flexibility, with a production capacity of up to 4,000 tons per year.
In our industrial facility, agri-food by-products (peels, seeds, shells) from our circular supply chain are transformed into biomass through a proprietary process of micronization, drying, and sterilization that preserves their characteristics and enhances their performance.
The biomass is incorporated into REKRILL® bio-based matrices during the compounding process, the central phase of bio-based polymer production, giving rise to formulations developed to meet the needs of different industrial sectors.
The material is extruded and transformed into mini-pellets ready for the main industrial processing methods, such as injection molding, extrusion, and other operations. The pellets are available in various packaging formats, including 25 kg bags, big bags, and Octabins, to suit every production requirement.
Managing all production phases internally allows us to guarantee supply continuity, custom productions on request, and constant quality control. Each batch is fully traceable, from the food by-product to the final biopolymer: this approach makes biopolymer production reliable, repeatable, and suitable for continuous supply as well.

Before reaching the production facilities, each formulation is developed and validated in the Krill Lab R&D center. Here our team studies new agri-food by-products, develops new materials, and verifies their performance through laboratory analysis and testing.
