Krill Design makes its debut at PCD Paris 2026 (Discovery Zone, stand DZ-9) by unveiling an exclusive preview of a new innovative bio-based material, specifically developed for small-batch production and advanced prototyping.
At the center of the presentation is a technical rod designed for turning and milling processes, a solution that represents a significant evolution compared to currently available sustainable materials, thanks to its optimal balance between technical performance, precision, and environmental sustainability.
A high-performance bio-based material for machining processes
The new Krill Design material is composed of 80% bio-based content, derived from a combination of bio-resin and recycled plant fibers. The formulation has been engineered to ensure:
- high mechanical strength
- excellent dimensional stability during machining
- strong mechanical and chemical properties
- reliable precision and machinability in turning and milling operations
These features make the material particularly suitable for product design applications, functional prototyping, and low-volume industrial production, opening up new opportunities for companies and designers focused on sustainable innovation.
Innovation and sustainability at the core of Krill Design’s research
A long-standing pioneer in the development of sustainable materials for circular industrial supply chains, Krill Design continues to advance its research toward solutions with low environmental impact and high technical content.
In line with this vision, the company is already developing additional material formulations that further expand its portfolio:
- two 100% bio-based REKRILL® materials, differentiated by rigidity level
- one 60% bio-based formulation, containing 15% plant fiber and recycled acetate, designed to enhance the value of a material that would otherwise be difficult to recycle in other industrial contexts
This approach enables the introduction of more circular solutions, transforming waste and complex materials into high–value-added resources.
Krill Design at PCD Paris 2026
The official presentation of the new bio-based material will take place during PCD Paris 2026, held on February 5–6, 2026, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
PCD Paris is the leading European event dedicated to innovation in packaging, materials, and solutions for cosmetics and personal care, providing the ideal setting to showcase how design, technology, and sustainability can converge into new industrial applications.
