REKRILL®: the new frontier in sustainable materials for design
Choosing REKRILL® means accessing an industrially reliable material and, moreover, contributing to a more resilient circular supply chain that enhances local economies and opens up new prospects for sustainable innovation in design and furnishings.
REKRILL® is a new frontier in materials for design and furnishings, offering a circular solution that comes from the enhancement of agri-food by-products, such as citrus peel, coffee silver skin, nut shells and other inedible residues. Through a patented process, these raw materials are selected, dehydrated and transformed into high-performance, 100% bio-based granules, ready for use in a wide and different range of industrial technologies, including injection moulding, extrusion, rotational moulding and 3D printing. The adaptability of REKRILL® allows it to meet the specific needs of design brands, both in terms of aesthetics, with a natural range of colours and textures that recall its plant origin or can be customised based on agreed colour palettes, and in terms of mechanical behaviour and production compatibility.
The production process integrates a responsible supply chain based on partnerships with farms and processing companies. Throughout all stages, from recovery to traceability and pre-treatment of biomass, consistent quality is guaranteed, enabling REKRILL® to meet the industry’s requirements for sustainability and performance without compromise.
The flexibility of the material allows for the exploration of solutions for premium furniture and accessories (seating, furnishings, lighting systems, panels, retail displays), as well as design merchandising, adapting to innovative and experimental projects that require new materials and attention to environmental impact.
The added value of REKRILL® also lies in its narrative dimension: each object created tells a story of regeneration and reconnection between natural resources, territory and design. The systemic approach reduces food waste and develops an industrial model that enhances designers’ creativity and positive impact on the environment, promoting the creation of low-impact products.
Choosing REKRILL® means accessing an industrially reliable material and contributing to a more resilient circular supply chain that enhances local economies and opens up new perspectives for sustainable innovation in design and furniture.
